look book: back in black
I love black jeans but every time I wear them I can't help but feeling a little rocker-ish. Maybe it's because I'm so used to lighter colors in general? And I do have a slight obsession with anything pink. Buuut I just so happened to have this pretty awesome oversized jacket in this kind of rose, fuchsia color.. ok it's really pink. And it belonged to this older musician who lived in my neighborhood and held a garage sale. I'm pretty sure he was a rockstar in his own right. {Yes, boys wear pink}. So I thought it was perfect! With all this rambling you can take away that this was the day I decided to be a pseudo rockstar, wear sparkly black jeans, buy/find a silver winnebago, and sing to my heart's delight!
Since my music career probably won't last long, I'll be back tomorrow!

look book: toluca blue
After talking about pastels on Friday, I was in the mood to wear light hues this weekend. This dress is one of those amazing vintage treasures! I know a lot of people sometimes stray away from wearing longer length dresses {I'm guilty of this too!} but there is something so fun and feminine about wearing a dress with a couple extra inches. Kind of ironic, right? But, with a pair of tall heels, and the right accessories, a longer length can become a little more modern! I think my grandmothers would approve :)

at work: Pastel Palette
One of my recent projects at Ruche was styling our Pastel Palette feature. We've all been getting so excited thinking about spring, especially when it comes to pretty pastel colors! Just because spring is technically a few months away doesn't mean we can't start incorporating lighter colors into our wardrobes now. I think that having a balance of pastels with darker colors, or neutrals, is key to tying the seasons together. Here are a couple of my favorite looks from the shoot:

look book: all that glitters is sequins
Yep, I was in shorts one day and then rainboots the next. One thing some of you may know is that I loooove the rain! I'm pretty much obsessed with it and anytime there's even the slightest chance of rainfall {even 10%} I get very giddy! Such is the story of Saturday. When I saw it drizzling outside my bedroom window I quickly planned on wearing my rainboots that I got three years ago and have worn a sad amount of times. Of course within a couple hours the skies were clear and I just looked like the biggest fool for traipsing around in galoshes. Oh well, you win some you lose some.

the newest member of the Delightful Dozen
So, some exciting news for this Wednesday morning! I was picked to be one of the newest members of the Delightful Dozen! If you're not familiar with the DD, you have to check it out! The blog project follows 12 different girls, living throughout the United States and shows how they mix and remix clothes. It's kind of like The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants but it's not just jeans! Some of my favorite bloggers are a part of this group and I'm so excited for this incredible opportunity! It will be fun to see some of my clothes travel across the country and into some very fashionable hands!

look book: the birds
I love this new trend in "animal" prints. There are the cutest blouses and dresses with ducks, elephants, even horses, floating about that remind us these prints aren't just for little ones under 5. I love this top with the birds and every time I look down I can't help but smile! Now if only they could teach me how to fly :)

sundays at the dog park
One thing I love about the weekends, besides being able to sleep in and that whole 'you don't have to go to work thing,' is taking Ginger to the dog park. They say a child's excitement is contagious, and that's exactly how I feel about Ginger, my puppy child's, thrill once we round that corner and she knows dog heaven is minutes away. She starts this crazy whimpering that just makes you laugh and you tell her to settle down, thinking she knows what that even means, and she jumps out of the car ready to make some dog and human friends. Matthew and I throw the ball to her {my aim is the worst}, she runs to fetch it as fast as her four legs will carry her, she meets some pals {Jasper is her favorite}, and always comes back to check in with "Mom and "Dad."
I love this little blueboo of mine!
there's also a whole lot of butt sniffing that goes on!

This dress was one of my favorite party pieces during the holidays and I love how you can also dress it down with a button up shirt underneath. It's an easy way to layer and make your closet a little more versatile. I think it's especially perfect to do
